In just a few hours you can learn enough about playing the guitar to give you years of musical enjoyment, and you won’t have to take private lessons to do it. This crash course will teach you some basic chords and get you playing with your favorite songs immediately. Fees include an online book, online follow-up lessons, a recording of the class, and an optional question and answer session. Class is held online using Zoom and is partly hands-on and partly lecture/demonstration. For ages 13-plus. Finance Authority of Maine’s (FAME) College Access and Financial Education team has put together a series of virtual workshops specifically for adults. All sessions are free, but you must register in advance. An email with a link to the online session will be sent in advance of the class.

Learn the difference between urges and cravings to eat versus true hunger in this three-week series. Participants will learn how to use the hunger scale to prevent overeating. Participants will also learn how to manage food cravings to reach health or weight loss goals; how to have a future-focus; and how to enjoy treats and special foods while still making progress toward goals. Session 1 will focus on the two main challenges of overeating; Session 2 addresses the hunger scale and managing urges.
